What is Li-Dan?
A1
:
Li-Dan is formulated upon the principles of Nutritional Immunology and targets the functions of the liver and gallbladder.

Q2
:
What are the functions of the liver and gallbladder?
A2
:
The liver and gallbladder are organs responsible for filtering toxins from the digestive system. When we consume medications, food and alcoholic drinks or are constantly tired, these organs become burdened with toxins. An insufficiently nourished liver or gallbladder cannot eliminate toxins effectively. This can lead to problems like gallstones, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.

Q3
:
What happens to the body when one is drunk?
A3
:
The liver helps remove the toxins in the alcohol, preventing their accumulation and destruction of body cells. Until the liver metabolizes all the alcohol consumed, the alcohol is distributed throughout the body by the blood, affecting the brain and other tissues. As alcohol can affect the brain, many experience disorientation and other signs of drunkenness after consuming excess alcohol.

Q4
:
How are alcohol and smoking linked to cancer or heart disease?
A4
:
Studies have so far indicated that regular consumption of alcohol and smoking can cause a variety of cancers. Drinking a little alcohol weekly can actually increase breast cancer risk in women. The American Cancer Society reports that the combination of alcohol and tobacco greatly increases the cancer risk than practicing either habit alone. The American Heart Association warns that smokers’ risk of heart attack is double that of non-smokers.
