FAQ - Research & Manufacturing

Q1
:
Are there references or research data available on Nutritional Immunology and/or E. Excel’s products?
A1
:
Education and research are the cornerstones of E. Excel International. Its magazines e.g. The Excellent Magazine and other publications impart its wealth of knowledge in Nutritional Immunology and its related research, news about E. Excel products as well as introduction to the ingredients used. Dr Jau-Fei Chen has also published the following books:
• Nutritional Immunology
• Plant Foods & Nutritional Immunology: A Scientific Approach
• Enjoying Health & Longevity With Nutritional Immunology
• Cancer & Nutritional Immunology
Q2
:
Does E. Excel grow its own botanical ingredients?
A2
:
E. Excel does not cultivate all its plant ingredients. E. Excel has been around for about 20 years; in comparison, cactus requires decades of growth. Hence, it is harvested from external sources.

Consumers are assured that no effort has been spared in regulating the entire manufacturing process from growth, harvest to final production to ensure the highest quality. E. Excel does stringent tests repeatedly to ensure the purity and quality of its products.

Q3
:
Where are E. Excel’s ingredients grown?
A3
:
E. Excel’s ingredients are grown in different regions around the world. Strict tests are conducted to ascertain the suitability of the soil for optimum plant growth before planting the crops. Hence, the plants selected by E. Excel are from the areas most suitable for their growth every year.
Q4
:
Are all of E. Excel’s raw materials organically grown?
A4
:
Not all of E. Excel’s plant food ingredients are organically grown. Ingredients such as cactus and ginseng require years of growth before they are ready for harvesting. In addition, E. Excel’s plant food ingredients are cultivated in different regions around the world. Different countries have different interpretations and methods of organic farming.

E. Excel International is deeply committed to developing the highest quality Nutritional Immunology products in the world. Freshness and purity of ingredients is guaranteed through E. Excel’s rigorous testing of products at all stages, from planting, harvesting and processing to packaging. We do not compromise on safety and hygiene of both raw materials and finished products.

Q5
:
If I consume the combination of ingredients present in E. Excel Products, will I reap the same benefits as consuming the products?
A5
:
E. Excel’s products are formulated upon the science of Nutritional Immunology and much time and effort is spent on the manufacturing process, which includes:

1. Researching the different types of plant food that contain the most abundant phytochemicals, antioxidants and polysaccharides
2. Studying which plant species is most beneficial to the human immune system. For example, there are over 80 species of ginger but all contain varying amounts of nutrients.
3. Analyzing which parts of a plant are most nutritious
4. Selecting the most appropriate harvest time. For example, the older the ginseng, the better it is, as ginseng harvested at a young age yields little nutritional benefit. Mushrooms should be harvested when they are still young to obtain optimum quality.
5. Using appropriate processing techniques. For example, some plants must be heated before use while others should not be heated.

E. Excel’s products are effective because of the amount of research and professional expertise devoted to each product formulation. Every single product is highly concentrated and packed using state-of-the-art technology to ensure that nutrients will not be lost. Thus, even if you buy the same ingredients used in E. Excel products and mix them yourself, the concentrations are not comparable and hence, the effects will not be the same as E. Excel products.

Q6
:
Why do different countries use different ingredients for the same product?
A6
:
E. Excel produces formulations that adhere closely to the regulations of a particular country. For example, E. Excel Korea’s products do not contain ginseng because Korea is a major exporter of ginseng and does not encourage the import of products with ginseng as their key ingredient. However, consumers can rest assured that E. Excel employs cutting-edge technology in using different ingredients to achieve the same effect. For example, grape seed is high in phytochemicals and antioxidants such as Oligomeric Proanthocyandin (OPC), but OPC can also be extracted from grape skin and other fruit skins.
Q7
:
Are E. Excel’s products safe? Which health regulatory authorities have inspected them?
A7
:
E. Excel’s products are manufactured in the USA, Singapore and Shanghai. In addition to E. Excel’s own stringent tests, E. Excel’s products are inspected by all countries that import them, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, Canada, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. Our products have been used by tens of thousands of consumers around the world for nearly 20 years. This is the best testimony of the effectiveness of our products.
Q8
:
What makes E. Excel’s products so different from other herbal supplements?
A8
:
Our products are the only products researched and formulated according to the principles of Nutritional Immunology, a science pioneered by our founder Dr Jau-Fei Chen. It studies the intimate link between nutrition and the immune system.
Q9
:
If certain products have been discontinued, does that mean that these products are not good?
A9
:
No. E. Excel’s products have been carefully manufactured to ensure nothing less than the highest quality. A product may be discontinued because its market demand is low or due to the introduction of a more superior product. There is no bearing on that product’s quality or nutritional value.
Q10
:
What is an anti-caking agent?
A10
:
Due to hot weather conditions, certain powdered beverages or foods may experience a caking or sticking-together effect. This happens despite utilizing state-of-the-art packaging methods. An anti-caking agent is used to prevent this problem while enhancing the quality of a product.
Q11
:
What is silicon dioxide? Is it a harmful substance?
A11
:
Silicon dioxide is a naturally occurring substance and is one of the minerals found in many commercially available multivitamin supplements. It is often used as an anti-caking agent. Silicon dioxide, when consumed as part of a balanced diet, is said to help heal joint and cartilage degeneration, for example, when you have arthritis. It is also said to help keep the blood vessel walls healthy. As with any overuse of multivitamins, large quantities of silicon dioxide may present toxic side effects. However, as an anti-caking agent, only a minute amount of silicon dioxide is necessary. As such, silicon dioxide as an anti-caking agent does not cause harmful side effects.
