Q11 |
: |
What are the advantages of essential oils? |
| A11 |
: |
Most essential oils are distilled from the flowers, leaves and fruit skins of plants. When inhaled, the natural aroma of essential oils travels through the olfactory nerve to the brain, and stimulates the brain to secrete endorphins and enkephalins, thereby producing a relaxing effect.
Essential oils have an amazing array of benefits for the human body. They have calming and relaxing effects, and help to boost concentration, improve blood circulation, activate cells, increase metabolism, and restore balance to the body, among other benefits.

| Q12 |
: |
How are essential oils extracted? |
| A12 |
: |
The three main extraction methods are distillation, expression, and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Modern essential oil extraction methods are selected based on plant or plant parts used. For example, expression is mostly used in the extraction of essential oils from fruits such as lemon, sweet orange and grapefruit. SFE is one of the most advanced extraction techniques. It uses carbon dioxide as a supercritical fluid to extract, separate and purify, and hence obtain essential oils of high purity. SFE is safe, non-toxic, and does not cause chemical pollution.
E. Excel uses SFE for its Elemente essential oils, such as Rose Essence, Jasmine Essence and Lavender Essence. This ensures that Elemente essential oils are safe, natural, and high in purity and concentration.

| Q13 |
: |
Does E. Excel use solvents to extract essential oils or in Aqua Essence? |
| A13 |
: |
Traditional extraction methods use solvents (mediums used to dissolve and mix different substances) to extract essential oils from plant material. For all Elemente essential oils and Aqua Essence products, E. Excel uses supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), which uses carbon dioxide as a supercritical fluid to extract, separate and purify. SFE is safe, non-toxic, does not use additives, and does not cause chemical pollution. |

| Q20 |
: |
Why do the rubber bulbs of glass droppers used for Elemente essential oils become soft after some time? |
| A20 |
: |
The rubber bulb is made from natural rubber. Essential oils of certain concentration and purity will soften rubber. High-purity essential oils cause rubber softening that is more obvious. Essential oils of low purity cause slower or decreased rubber softening. Elemente essential oils are of high concentration and purity. Hence the rubber bulbs of glass droppers may show signs of softening. This is normal and not a cause for concern. You can seal the bottle mouth and store the dropper separately to prevent rubber softening. |
